Secretary Life

After I graduated from SP, I worked in an educational institute for almost 2.5 years. Being a freshie, my intention is to grab any job and get my experiences.
I must say that both Lynnette and Brenda have created an impact in my career path. Looking at how commanding, influential, successful they are as the Company's Secretary, I decided to follow their footsteps as a Secretary or PA.
Currently, I am a Secretary of a Director for exactly a year. Although the annual remuneration was less attractive than expected, I thought getting the experiences was comforting enough to accept this challenges. Moreover, I got through with just a first and only interview from my Boss. Being also the Company's Secretary, I learnt and liased alot with the Management (HODs), Bankers and Auditors.
During my first few months with my current company, I asked myself what is my role or workscope here as I don't seem to have the feel being a Secretary. Probably, I was new to the Company and my boss do not have a Secretary before. Therefore, both of us need time to adapt and learn each other working style. Now, I can say or consider myself as my Boss's Secretary, handling all internal and external work matters - his tool of communication between the inside and outside world. haha! Also, its always interesting to know alot of confidential issues others don't know and won't get to know. *wink wink*
I knew that I could learn alot and build my worth here. Ultimately, I would still love to be the Secretary or PA in a MNC. Hopefully, that day would not be long for me to realise my idea career dream.
